California Rail Pass
Want to get out there and see California? Amtrak’s California Rail Pass may be just the ticket.
The California Rail Pass gives you 21 days of travel in beautiful California for just $159—children 2-15 are $80.
This special deal from Amtrak has some restrictions. Train travel must be done on eligible trains. Those trains are:
- Capitols, San Joaquin and Pacific Surfliner corridor trains.
- Coast Starlight between LA and Dunsmuir.
- And most Thruway services.
- It’s not valid on any long-distance trains, like the Sunset Limited and Texas Eagle.
The California Rail Pass is for 21 consecutive days. So, the first day you travel on starts the clock.
Even with these restrictions, the California Rail Pass can be an inexpensive and viable option if you love train travel.
You can’t get the California Rail Pass online though. Give Amtrak a call at 1-800-USA-Rail. You might be able to get the California Rail Pass through a travel agent, so if you are working with one, ask them.
