    North American Rail Pass

The North American Rail Pass is a great and inexpensive way to get out there and see the country. Offered by Amtrak and VIA Rail Canada, the North American Rail Pass gives you 30 consecutive days of train travel between Canada and the United States.

At $999 during peak season—$709 off-peak—the North American Rail Pass is a deal. Between the two passenger rail systems, you have over 900 destinations to choose from, which span 28,000 miles.

Seniors, students and children (2-18) get discounts too. During the peak season, which is from May 25th to October 15th, a $100 discount is given. A $70 discount is given during the off-peak times, which brings the cost down to just $638.10.

Purchasers of the North American Rail Pass will be utilizing Coach Class travel. If this isn’t to your liking, you can upgrade to Business Class or Sleeping Car.

A few conditions apply to this great deal. You must make at least one trip between the US and Canada and you must have at least one part of your journey on Amtrak and Via Rail Canada. I don’t think this requirement is too bad. Why not take a trip to another country along the way?

If you’re looking for an enjoyable month-long vacation, check out the North American Rail Pass from Amtrak and VIA Rail Canada. The restrictions are very minimal and the price is great. It sure beats paying hundreds of dollars for one round-trip airline ticket.
